5 Ingredient Chocolate Muffin

Another 5 ingredient recipe is up! Chocoholics ALERT!!

[Adapted and slightly modified from a book i borrowed and forgotten the name]

Prep time: abt 20 mins
Cook time: 15-20 mins

Level: Easy

Makes: abt 5

• 100g (4oz) unsalted butter
• 100g (4oz) self-raising flour
• 80g caster sugar 
• 3 tbs cocoa powder
• 2 eggs, beaten


1. Preheat oven to 180∘C (350∘F/ Gas 4).

2. Cream butter and sugar together until pale and creamy. Gradually beat in the eggs, a little at a time, beating well after each addition. Fold in the flour, using a metal spoon. Mix cocoa powder in a small bowl with some water (or milk) to make a paste, add to the sponge mixture and fold in.

3. Spoon this mixture into the prepared cases and bake for 15-20 minutes until well risen and firm to the touch. Remove from the oven and transfer to a wire rack to cool.

4. Sprinkle some icing sugar on the surface for a better look/ presentation~ :)
